Connection
IMPORTANT !
< Make sure to set all the speakers to "SMALL", in
the speaker setting of your AV amplifier.
How to connect
Press the lever, insert the stripped end of the cord, then
release the lever.
Make sure it is fastened securely by pulling the cord lightly.
Satellite speakers can be mounted on the appropriate stand or
wall mounting bracket. (LS-F6000, LS-S8000)
< Prior to use, ensure that mounted places like the wall or
ceiling are strong enough to withstand the weight of the
speaker and attachment.
Before Use
Please confirm that the following units are in the box when you
open it.
LS-A5000:
Front Speaker (LS-F6000) x 2
Center Speker (LS-C8000) x1
Surround Speaker (LS-S8000) x 2
Powered Subwoofer (LS-A8000) x1

CAUTION
< Be sure to read the instruction manual of the amplifier
carefully and switch the power off before connecting the
speaker.
< Connect the provided speaker cables (or other suitable cables)
from the speaker terminals to the terminals of the amplifier.
< Be sure that the positive + terminal of the speaker is
connected to the corresponding + terminal of the amplifier,
and that negative _ matches _.
< When connecting to an amplifier having an output higher than
the maximum rated input of the speaker, be careful not to
exceed the speaker's maximum input, otherwise it will damage
the speaker.
< Be sure to connect the power cord to an AC outlet which
supplies the correct voltage.
< Hold the power plug when plugging or unplugging the power
cord.
< When the cord is plugged in, a small amount of current
continues to flow to the unit, even when the power is turned
off. Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet when the unit
isn't in use for some time.
Use unified screws.

Connection to a 6.1ch amplifier
LS-A9000/LS-A6000
The effects remain the same
when the RCA pin cable is
connected to either the R or L
Subwoofer LINE IN terminal.
Connection to a 5.1ch amplifier
LS-A8000/LS-A5000
The effects remain the same
when the RCA pin cable is
connected to either the R or L
Subwoofer LINE IN terminal.
Connection to a AV amplifier
The following is the connection method for your AV amplifier
when it has a SUBWOOFER PRE OUT terminal.
Connect the amplifier's SUBWOOFER PRE OUT terminal (mono)
and the unit's LINE IN terminal (L or R) with the supplied RCA
pin cable.
< When connecting to the SUBWOOFER PRE OUT terminal of the
AV amplifier, set the CROSSOVER knob of the subwoofer to 160
Hz (Maximum).

How to connect
1. Turn the terminal cap counterclockwise to loosen it. The
speaker terminal caps cannnot be fully removed from the
base.
2. Insert the wire into the terminal fully and turn the terminal cap
clockwise to securely connect it.
Make sure none of the wire insulation is under the terminal,
only the bare, stripped wire.
3. Make sure it is fastened firm by pulling the cable lightly.
Subwoofer connection
Connection to the amplifier's SPEAKER OUT
(stereo)
The following is the connection method using your amplifier's
SPEAKER terminals.
Connect the subwoofer's HIGH LEVEL INPUT terminals (L/R) to
your amplifier's SPEAKER terminals (L/R) with the speaker
cables.
And you can connect your front speakers (L/R) to the
subwoofer's HIGH LEVEL OUTPUT terminals (L/R).
NOTE:
< Be sure that the positive + terminal of the speaker is
connected to the corresponding + terminal of the amplifier,
and that negative _ matches _.
The followings are the connection methods for your amplifier
when it has no SUBWOOFER PRE OUT terminal.
Connection to the PRE OUT (stereo)
The following is the connection method using your amplifier's
stereo PRE OUT terminals.
Connect the subwoofer's LINE IN terminals (L/R) to your pre-
amplifier's PRE OUT terminals (L/R) with the commercially
available stereo RCA pin cable.
And you can connect your power amplifer's input terminals
(L/R) to the subwoofer's LINE OUT terminals (L/R).
NOTE:
< Make sure to connect:
white plug w white jack (L: left channel)
red plug w red jack (R: right channel)

Positioning of the Speakers
LS-A9000/LS-A6000
LS-A8000/LS-A5000
The positioning of speakers differs according to the size and
acoustics of the room. While actually listening to a program
source, try various speaker positions to determine which
layout provides the best surround effect.
< Ideally, position all the speakers in a circle, with the same
distance from your listening position.
< Place the speakers connected to "L" to your left, and "R" to
your right.
Front speakers
Place the front speakers in front of the listening position, to
the left and right of the TV.
Center speaker
Place the center speaker between the front speakers, on or
below the TV.
This speaker stabilizes the sound image.
Surround speakers
Install these speakers above the listener's ear level, directly
to the left and right of (or slightly behind) the listening
position.

Surround Back speaker
(Except LS-A8000 / LS-A5000)
Place the sorround back speaker at the back of the listening
position facing the front at a slightly higher positon than the
surround left and right speakers. Point slightly downward.
Subwoofer
The subwoofer should be placed on a hard, flat surface.
Also, because of variances in room sizes and shapes, you
should experiment with subwoofer placement to maximize
the bass sound at the primary listening position. Bass sound
is non-directional to the human ear so place your subwoofer
anywhere that sounds best from your favorite chair.
